The phrase for the day: "dapped up"

ESPN annotates this as "shook hands" as in, Marcus Vick says, "We just kind of dapped up and hugged each other" when explaining how his chat went with Dumervil, the guy whose leg Vick stepped on during a bowl game noless.

It's not "shaking hands." It's a more physical thing. Think "tap." Kocking fists together would be dapping up. Pertty much any fratrnity greeting probably quaifies. It's not so much "shaking hands" as "enthusiastic greeting," possibly "affirmation."

Damned ESPN weenies.
